Bernardo Sousa is back racing. After three months absence due to surgery to his right shoulder, the Madeiran pilot returns in full force in the Algarve Casinos Rally. Today was the day for the practice laps and for sitting at the wheel of his Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX once again.

Algarve Casinos may mark the return of the Red Bull Rally Team pilot 

The Madeiran pilot may return to the race track earlier than expected. Recovering well from surgery to his right shoulder in September, Bernardo Sousa may start competing again on the 21st and 22nd November in the Algarve Casinos Rally. The final decision will be made in the middle of next week when he goes for another medical check-up.

The Madeiran pilot, Bernardo Sousa’s right shoulder was operated on yesterday in Austria to solve an old injury that has restricted hi performance over the past few months. In four weeks’ time, he will start physiotherapy and, at the beginning of December (between the 5th and 7th) he will start competing again in the last stage of the Production World Rally Championship (PWRC), the British Rally.

Seventh place overall in the PWRC was the Madeiran pilot’s reward for his effort

Seventh place in the final Production classification of the New Zealand Rally – sixth stage in the Production World Rally Championship (PWRC) – was the well-deserved reward for the Red Bull Rally Team pilot’s performance in his fifth participation in a World race.

SOUSA IN 8TH PLACE IN NEW ZEALAND
ImageDespite the injury to his shoulder, the pilot finished the second day amongst the Top Ten

After finishing two stages of the New Zealand Rally – sixth race of the Production World Rally Championship (PWRC), - the Red Bull Rally Team pilot occupies 8th position in the general Production classification. A very encouraging result for Bernardo Sousa who, despite the injury to his shoulder and his lack of experience in the New Zealand sections, has managed to earn a place on the classification table.
