The Red Bull Rally Team pilot’s aim is to finish the Acropolis Rally |
BERNARDO SATISFIED WITH THE SHAKEDOWN
After classifying in the two Production World Rally (PWRC) races in which he competed (Sweden and Argentina), Bernardo Sousa wants to repeat the result in Greece. The shakedown this morning served as a warm-up for a race in which the demanding track and the heat will be the great adversaries of the Red Bull Rally Team pilot.
“Finishing” is Bernardo Sousa’s major concern. In his third Production Rally World Championship (PRWC) race, the Madeiran pilot, who is still learning, admits that finishing what is considered the toughest race in the World Championship will be a victory in itself.

BERNARDO SOUSA FOCUSED ON GREECE
The countdown to another stage of the World Rally Race (PWRC) has started and Bernardo Sousa is confident when leaving for Greece. Aware of the hard race ahead of him, the Madeiran pilot is determined to do his best at the wheel of his Red Bull Rally Team Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX.
Being the youngest Portuguese pilot ever to compete in the Production World Rally championship – PWRC – is a huge challenge for Bernardo Sousa, who turned 21 right after he competed in the Portuguese Rally. After Sweden, his first ever race where he finished in a brilliant eighth place, and Argentina, the Madeiran pilot travels to the south of Europe to compete in the Acropolis Rally in Greece, between the 29th of May and the 1st of June.

SUCCESSFUL PHASE ENDS WITH BAD LUCK |
Red Bull Rally Team pilot was the best Portuguese competitor
What seemed to be a perfect day ended badly due to a mechanical fault. After racing amongst the Top 10 and complying with the objective proposed, the pilot of the Red Bull Rally Team ended up with a complicated “special” final race. The radiator of his Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX was to blame.
A problem with the radiator of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX spoilt the end of Bernardo Sousa’s day. Just when he was in 8th place overall, the Madeiran pilot broke the fan and ended up by damaging the radiator. A situation that made him lose a lot of time in the sixth and last special qualifying race of the day in São Brás de Alportel, which ended up with his withdrawal.
